Construct a pedestrian foot bridge and walkway at Veteran's Memorial Park to connect the beautiful Veteran's and Firefighter's Memorials.  In addition the walkway will be extended behind the Senior Recreation Center to Veteran's Park where that Veteran's Memorial will be relocated to the entrance to the park.   When completed our residents will be able to stroll through these meaningful memorials to our borough's heroes in a respectful manner.

Helen Street Project: The Borough intends to develop a truck relief route to the industrial properties located along Metuchen Road, which will reduce truck traffic in residential neighborhoods. Many of the trucks that access this industrial area come from I-287 at the Durham Avenue exit, go right on Hamilton Boulevard, then right to Belmont Avenue and finally right onto Metuchen Road. Portions of Hamilton Boulevard and most of Belmont Avenue are residential, and the Roosevelt Elementary School is located on the corner of Hamilton Boulevard and Durham Avenue.  The objectives of this project are to remove as many trucks as possible from residential streets, separate truck traffic from cars and other small vehicles, improve the movement of goods through the Borough and enhance economic development opportunities in the region. The Helen Street Extension will provide an alternate route for trucks to access the industrial areas.
