What are the Republicans doing with our tax dollars!

South Plainfield had been below the State’s average and we were rated number one in Middlesex County for the town with the lowest tax increases. This was because the Democratic Party tightened our belts by implementing the Pay-as-you-go approach to spending. The Democrats have been proud of our record on taxes and we have maintained our taxes below the rate of inflation. In 2008, the Republican’s took over control of the council and in only 10 days raised our taxes a whopping 13.8%. This increase is equivalent to the total increase in taxes for the 10 years period from 1998 to 2007. This is totally unacceptable and all the residents of South Plainfield should be disappointed at the Republican Council members for unnecessarily raising our taxes.

Let’s keep moving forward this November and keep our government fiscally sound.
