Welcome to the South Plainfield Democrats Web Page. I know that South Plainfield is a great town to live in because I was born and raised here. As you travel around our borough you always feel at home. Everyone knows we have one of the best school systems in Middlesex County and one of the lowest crime rates. We have a terrific Senior Citizens Center and our P.A.L. and community pool are world class facilities. South Plainfield was the first town in New Jersey to be recognized for our "Pay as You Go" approach to government spending. That's why our debt has gone down and our credit rating has gone up. There is no other municipality that can boast no municipal tax increase in three of the last four years. In fact since the Democrats took control of the Borough Council in 1994, we have actually cut spending and increased municipal services. What a difference from the prior years of Republican control when the borough debt increased $20 million and taxes soared. Sounds a little bit like Washington D.C. doesn't it?
