Petronko and Scrudato enthusiastically endorsed by Democrats

The South Plainfield Democratic Committee has unanimously endorsed Council President Raymond Petronko and Councilperson Joseph Scrudato for reelection. Committee Chair Patrick Diegnan summed up the sentiments of the committee saying: “We are proud of the job Ray and Joe have done as members of the borough council. They have earned the respect of our residents and they deserve to be reelected.   They will continue the work of the Democratic majority on the council along with Mayor Butrico which includes a commitment to fiscally sound government, keeping trucks off Hamilton Boulevard, the preservation of open space and working to unite our residents.”
Mayor Butrico enthusiastically endorsed Council members Petronko and Scrudato reelection:  “I couldn’t begin to accomplish my goals for our great borough without the support of Ray and Joe.  They have a long history of working for South Plainfield which began before they served on the borough council.  Ray first volunteered as a member of the Traffic Safety Committee 20 years ago.  He has worked on virtually every event in the borough including the Parade Committee every year.  His love of South Plainfield is embodied with his being a member of our outstanding Fire Department.   Joe is known for his work with kids through coaching and his work with the Church and those in need through our local Knights of Columbus.  I am not going to go on and on but let me simply say ‘Ray Petronko and Joe Scrudato are exactly what we need on the council.   They have no agenda except working to make our borough a better place for all of our residents.”
Council President Petronko lives at 181 Hudson Street and has three children, Randall 26, Alexandra 18 and Kimberly 15.   Council member Scrudato lives at 134 Lafayette Place.  He and his wife Sharon have three children Alyssa 17, Rachel 14 and Jack 9.
Both candidates thanked the members of the committee for their support.  Ray Petronko said “I am proud to be a representative of the people of our great borough and I am proud to be Democrat.  I promise to continue to give my all to make life even better for all of our residents.”
Joe Scrudato echoed his running mates comments “Ray and I only want to do what’s right.  We will never try to divide our residents.  It has been an honor for both of us to serve as members of the borough council and we will continue to work to keep your trust.”
